A delicious breakfast burrito for under $5?! And this is no tiny burrito. Based on the price I almost ordered 2. I have included a picture of my hand next to my burrito for comparison. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often. This is a small, Asian-owned business that definitely deserves to be supported.

This is a mom & pop run sandwich shop that is no frills, but is very solid. The sandwiches I've tried are tasty (vegetarian, ham & cheese, pastrami) and the chicken noodle soup (don't sleep on it) gives me life when I'm sick. Prices are very reasonable, especially in this day and age. You can tell they have loyal, regular customers and I'm now a part of that group.

Great little place. Outside looks in assuming but this is such a great sandwich shop. All the cold sandwich they make are fresh and made to order. Subway is dead to me. This is the sandwich you want.

Small sub shop with a solid menu. Got 2 subs: Super Grinder (Cold) Philly Cheesesteak (Hot) Both were great! Grinder was an absolute unit. Could have fed 2 people. Only about $20 for both subs. Surprised this place wasn't busier when I got there. Any time I'm in Long Beach, I'll be back!

This place defines everything I love about a small business. Not only is it great, quick food, but also even better service and value. I have been going here since I was a young child and who I assume to be the owner has had my order memorized ever since. Plus, they’re a true model of consistency as their sandwiches are always great. One of the true hidden treasures of Long Beach, we love you Sub King!

Feeling sick and was looking for a place for some soup. Came across sub king. Surprised by the pricing of the sandwiches and other items on the menu, I decided to come in. I ordered the soup of the day, chicken noodle, and it was delicious. Also powdered a breakfast burrito. The burrito was $5 and was good, not the best, but good. I recommend this place if you are hungry and don't want to break your bank. Will be back to try their subs.

I love a great sandwich full of what a sandwich should be: meat. I mean essentially is the meat and bread that we pay for realistically. The Sub King delivers! My turkey and swiss sandwich, although, sounds simple is actually difficult. It's challenging to get the right amount of bread to meet to condiments ratio perfectly right. My sandwich for a large 12" cold turkey Sub was about $9 give or take but worth it. Here at the Sub King, they do it right. They do it fast. And they do it with really good service, plus a smile. There is a little wait (5-6 min) while they make the sandwich fresh. I think I might have found my new sandwich shop choose to work.

If you find yourself near Signal Hill, CA, Sub King - Signal Hill is a must-visit for sandwich lovers craving hearty, fresh, and flavorful meals. This small, family-run sandwich shop at 2201 E Willow St #E has quietly built a loyal following for good reason. Their menu highlights simple yet satisfying options that show real care—especially the breakfast burritos and cold subs.

The breakfast burritos here stand out as a highlight. Whether you go for the classic ham and egg or the more indulgent bacon avocado option, the portions are generous and the flavor balanced perfectly. One customer noted getting a burrito nearly the size of their hand for under $5—a true bargain in today’s dining landscape. These burritos are not just filling; they offer a focused and well-seasoned bite that wakes you up better than your average grab-and-go breakfast.

Around lunchtime, their cold subs, like the 12 Turkey Cheese or the robust Super Grinder, deliver freshness with each bite. The ingredients are crisp, and sandwiches are made to order, avoiding any trace of the mass-produced taste common in chain establishments. Hot options like the Philly Cheesesteak or the unique Korean BBQ bring bold flavors and a satisfying warmth that elevates traditional sub shop fare.

Sub King’s charm comes through in its no-frills approach combined with genuine quality. It’s a mom-and-pop feel where each sandwich is crafted with care, not rush. Reviews praise the service as much as the food. Customers like Marlene Villa have kept coming back for over a decade, drawn not just by the taste but by the top-notch, friendly atmosphere.

Additionally, supporting this Asian-owned business means contributing to a community staple that values consistent quality over gimmicks. If you’re in Long Beach or the surrounding area, skip the big chains and treat yourself to fresh sandwiches and hearty breakfast burritos that don’t break the bank. Sub King - Signal Hill is an uplifting reminder that sometimes simple, well-made food is exactly what a sandwich shop should be.
